Congratulations on your first step to having a better birth business. I am excited to be a part of your learning experience as we explore business concepts relating to the birth worker field.

One of the first things you are going to want to do it introduce yourself to the >> Better Your Birth Business Facebook Group <<

Over the next 10 weeks, we're going to dive in deep to an intense curriculum that combines years worth of knowledge in a short period of time as you kickoff your business exploration.

Through out the course there will be video lectures, text PDF readings, quizzes, and activities to help you learn the basic concepts of business. A new module will come out each week. You can choose to either work with the new launches or take your time. You will have six months to get through the course.

You will first want to watch the video's or powerpoint presentations, followed by the book chapter, and then any activities or other files. You will submit assignments directly to me for feedback or you can also submit them to the Facebook group for feedback from your peers. The group is also a great place to gain support and accountability. Good luck!

5 TIPS ON HOW TO GET THE MOST FROM THE COURSE

Some quick tips to get more from this course:

  1. Have your business in mind. Relate the ideas presented here to your existing business or use it to plan for the business you want to have.
  2. Take it 15-30 minutes at a time. Don’t do too much at once. You’ll learn more if you take time to reflect on each module or topic before moving on to the next.
  3. Do the projects and exercises. We’ve included several projects and exercises. You can skip them if you like, but doing them will take you further in the long run.
  4. Take notes. Not because you’ll necessarily refer to them later, but because the process of note-taking will help you both remember and understand the ideas.
  5. Come back to the detail. We have put each chapter in a separate PDF so that you can go back and read the details of what we will be learning throughout this course.
